Christina will lead us into a Pilates Journey that will take us through various Pilates classes of different pace, beyond the Classical Repertoire.
Enjoy a full body conditioning with strength, flow, and happy energy.

Description of the Retreat
Christina is a very dynamic, upbeat and energetic Pilates teacher.
You would enjoy this full circle of Pilates practice with her in the great setting of Zen Rocks.
Starting with the basics on Friday afternoon, she will lead us into a strong practice on Saturday morning, followed by an enjoyable and mellow flow in the evening.
The journey repeats on Sunday and you can go away feeling pumped up and energized, or stay a few more days and continue your fitness holiday at Zen Rocks.
A few words about the Type of Yoga/Meditation/Pilates offered
My Pilates journey started with BASI in 2004. At that time, I was working as a personal trainer and group exercise trainer in gyms and health clubs in Athens. Pilates was a very different form of exercise from than what I was used to. At first, I thought it was just for dancers!!! Fortunately, I understood that Pilates is a complete mind body practice and this helped me understand “human movement” in depth. Since then, I have worked with many world renown teachers who inspired me in different ways; thus I have learned many different approaches to the method. Pilates mat work consists of 34 classical exercises that Joe Pilates presented on his book “Return to life through Contrology.” Although I very much respect this classical approach, I believe that nothing remains the same. Human body sciences evolve and so must exercise. As we understand better the human anatomy and kinesiology, we must adapt the exercises to this new understanding.
My practice can be soft or strong, depending on the target and needs. If the purpose is to promote movement patterns, joint mobility and muscle flexibility, then I use a mild practice based on flowing movement. If our target is strength and endurance, we will pick more difficult exercises. The foundation is always the basic principles of the method. Breathing, Centre, Control, Precision, Concentration and flowing movement are guiding any good Pilates practice and are the cornerstones of my classes.

Ideal for fitness lovers. Prior Pilates experience is a plus for sure. If you don’t have prior Pilates experience, get ready to take the plunge now!
